YULETIDE MATTERS

1924 never sleeps. Regular posts will continue throughout the holidays, except on Christmas Day. As for New Year's, damn them bowl games, there's baseball to be played! Regardless, Mr. Butterworth, Master Spanelli, and all their Jazz Age friends wish you the cheeriest of seasons.

  1. Jeff,

Happy Holidays. I'll try to have a good holiday, but it'll be tough with the Yankees out of the pennant race.

  2. Just be thankful you're not a Giants fan. With Ruth, Meusel and Pennock being the Yanks' only great players, I never expected a juggernaut, but McGraw's men have no excuses. Decent starting pitching and a high on-base and slugging lineup top to bottom should have them right in the thick of the NL race, but they make every little mistake imaginable to lose big games. Tune in Tuesday for the latest atrocity...
