AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I've made a few minor tweaks to the blog layout to ease the eye and mind. The date of each post is now in stylish "dot" format to avoid clashing with the 1924 dates. I've also added a button at the end of each post so readers can e-mail their favorite entries to their friends, colleagues, family members and pets. And I've re-ordered the archives on the left in chronological order, so new and returning guests can easily follow Vinny and Cal's stories from the beginning. Thanks. Back through my portal now...
